Suggested Best Practices

“Two Rings”

If you are responsible for answering the telephones, then you should aim to answer the phone before it rings the third time. This even applies when meeting with your supervisor. Just politely excuse yourself, and answer the phone.

If you are in the middle of serving a resident or prospect in the office, then ask the person calling if you can call them back when you are finished. Then make sure the call back is the same day, and as soon as practical after you’ve finished servicing the individual in the office.

“No walks”

If a prospect came in for more information or a tour of an apartment, then make every effort to get them to complete an application unless they have already stated that they are not interested (e.g. the apartment is too big/small, the rent is too much, etc.)

Independent of your job title, you are expected to “sell” the property and it’s amenities at all times.
